Trying to hold onto something that escapes me: a deep helplessness in the face of Gaza under siege. It carries a Braille love letter on a cloud made of salt “Noon Qatna”, a rare cloud once read as a sign of blessing. But here, it also carries protection, and the weight of loss.

 

About Shada Safadi

A visual artist living across Ramallah and Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, her work retells local stories through mixed media, reflecting the social and political realities of peripheral geographies. A founding member of Fateh Al Muddarris Center for Arts and Culture in the Golan and recipient of the A.M. Qattan Young Artist of the Year Award, her work has been exhibited across Syria, Palestine, Sweden, Slovenia, and the UK.
