Going by Intuition – Damascus gate
Shada Safadi
2021 / Palestine / 2’19min

In “Going by Intuition”, I return to childhood imagination, when Jerusalem felt very close.. close enough to stretch beyond the apple fields. Damascus Gate stands at the center of the village, and inside this imagined space is the “Kareem bird,” this bird holds a special place in our community. The piece reflects a child’s imagination of geography, and the emotional presence of Jerusalem in our collective memory.
